Projects

Here, I keep a short list of my planned (confirmed or otherwise) concept portfolios.
Finished projects can be found in the "PORTFOLIOS" tab.

Lubbock

A concept portfolio of Lubbock would have to entail a cunning vision. The banal have to be made striking, the plains made full, the people made vibrant. Nothing but a trompe l'oeil of the urban-rural can pique the curious to come closer—close enough to examine all this city's beauty. And it's quite a lot.

Urban Texas

I've been meaning to go on a photo-trip around the state, and these next few months I'm finally seizing the opportunity. Though I'm a bit hesitant to overwork myself, I owe it to this great state. My photography is only as good as how I make my home look.

Southeast Asia

Bangkok and Bali will undoubtedly surprise me. Unlike Lubbock there is no need for cunning tactics in photography of these locales because almost nothing there is banal to the western eye. The challenge will be to capture the exotic in a readable frame. And to distill the beautiful into a singular instant.

Manila

If Texas is my home, Manila is grandma's house. I don't usually spend my days there, but whenever I return to visit I never want to leave. It's changed much since I was a child, but it's such a vibrant city full of life, color, humanity, and intrigue. Apologies to Hong Kong and Singapore, but if Manila could afford the clothes y'all wear y'all would pale in comparison. It'll be the biggest personal challenge I'd face, and the most work I'd take on (outside of medical school), but a month in the streets I used to walk on should allow my eyes to readjust—and my lens to do the rest.
